As community college board president, I expanded workforce training to fill thousands of critical healthcare openings, strengthened dual enrollment for high schoolers, and grew programs for skilled trades like HVAC and welding. Serving the second-largest community college student body in the state, we achieve these successes responsibly within budget, prioritizing students, faculty, and staff. I was the Vice President of Planned Parenthood Mar Monte. In the legislature, I authored the California FACE Act & Reproductive Rights Law Enforcement Act that protect patients, staff, providers, and families from violence when accessing all reproductive health services. Today, a new law in California will enable community college health centers to provide medication abortion services to our students. Access matters.
